“Why We Say and Do the Things We Say and Do” In a spiritual journeys we become familiar with our rituals, words and daily expectations. So much so that we sometimes forget, or have forgotten, why we do them, say then or think they are important to us. God, our Provider, not only sees our journeys, but also walks with us as we travel it. ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus

Scriptures: Ezekiel 34:5–6, 11–16 & Acts 2:1–12
“The Bird and the B’s” We, us, the people of God, now meet Jehovah Raah—"The Almighty God, my Friend". A true friend is ever there for us. The winds of tumult OR life-giving breaths—the Holy Spirit is a holy wind consecrating and giving new meaning to both the peaceful times and the storms of our lives. The Spirit of Christ with us forever, takes the winds of our lives, consecrates them and transforms them to teach us how to: Behold, Believe, Belong, Become, and Be Sent. ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus Scriptures: Exodus 6:1–7a & Acts 1:6–9
“Open Your Heart to Your Faith” The watching Disciples meet El Shaddai—"The God Who Nurtures". There are no such things as Evidences of Faith. It takes a heart, searching for the goodness of God, searching for the goodness in others and searching for the goodness in oneself. We can’t stand watching; we have to search. The subtext for this day is from Hebrews 11:1 “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus Scriptures: Exodus 15:22–26 & John 21:15–19
“Open Your Mind to Healing and Restoration” Peter meets Jehovah Rapha—"The Almighty Who Heals and Restores". Peter takes his denials back! Who among us can ever claim, we've always done everything right? Christ is the source of restoration and reconciliation; it is so inspiring and comforting to see that Jesus made the first move. The issue is do we notice when He does so with us? ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus |
