Scriptures: Psalms 118:14–29 & John 20:19–31
“The Hospitality of God” The message this week will focus on the hospitality of God, specifically how hospitable God is to us in order that we might know God's love for us and the salvation given to us in Jesus. Jesus is so hospitable to Thomas in his disbelief that he is willing to let Thomas put his fingers in Jesus' wounds. Jesus himself is an act of God's hospitality: God becoming one of us in order that we might have life in Jesus' name. Jesus is God with skin, as one person has noted. As Jesus says in John's gospel, "As the Father has sent me, so I send you." We are now sent to be God with skin for others. This is part of what it means to be a resurrection people. ~ Rev. Keith Hohly, Bishop’s Associate, Central States Synod–Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
