Scriptures: Psalm 86:11–17, 1 Corinthians 14:26 & Luke 4:31–39
To teach or to show; they are often one and the same. The greatest teachers are the ones who SHOW the lesson to be learned. They embody the truth, own it, live it and powerfully portray it to those who watch. We are called by the teaching Savior to empathize and to do all within our power to heal a spirit or to pray for God’s power to be manifest. The gratitude of God is a thankful blessing. ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 12:12–13, 18–21, 26–27 & Luke 4:14–24
The words and manner by which Christ spoke and acted serve to teach us that even when we have to say harsh things or reveal difficult truths, it can be done in such a way as to gain respect and give the needed attention to important choices people must often make. We are taught that all deserve dignity and respect, and that our words should be as gracious as those of our Teaching Savior. ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus |
