Scriptures: Psalm 118:19–29 & Matthew 7:24–29
“Vital Lessons: From the Keystone to Foundation” We live our lives and experience both the highs and the lows, but most of our time is spent between those extremes. During all this we share our earthly time with all others whose lives touch ours. How blessed we are that there are spiritual keystones and foundations to guide us - from above us (God's benevolent grace) and below us (Christ’s foundational love). The power of our response to God’s grace and the power of the lessons of Christ builds up: who we choose to be, what we choose to do and how we treat others. Therein lies our path to happiness and peace. ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus

“Vital Lessons: Preserve & Protect” As the Body of Christ, we have an awesome responsibility. So, Christ teaches us what we must do. Salt preserves, so must we. Light protects and so must we. Together, we explore what we are called to preserve and protect. ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 1:26–31 & Matthew 5:1–13
“Vital Lessons: Wise Sacrifices” As devotees of our Teaching Savior, we are called to many sacrifices. Those sacrifices transform what we have given up into blessings. The blessing may take different forms, seemingly unrelated to the sacrifice, but yet they proceed from them as God's gifts to us. Loving and falling in love is certainly one of those life events that make the truth of “sacrifice” come alive. Sacrifices don’t take away, they add to; Happy Valentine’s Day. ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus Scripture: Matthew 6:1–6, 16–18
As we enter the Lenten season, we seek to prepare, as best we can, to understand, learn and appreciate what the life and passion of Christ means to all of us. Lent is traditionally a season of repentance and sacrifice. This service will help us focus on, and provide some ways, to spiritually experience the value and purpose of Christ’s sacrifice. Let us together seek to walk with Him in our day-to-day lives. ~ Rev. John Barbone, Pastor Emeritus |
